Post Office Closures

The planned closure of Albany Street Post Office is a real concern. Like many other local post offices it offers an invaluable service to local residents. It would be much missed, particularly by the people who need it most. And who are they? The ones who are least able to speak out.

Albany Street Post Office Victory!

The Conservatives were at the forefront of local efforts to bring back the Post Office to Albany Street.

The Royal Mail has announced that a Post Office is set to reopen in Londis, just a few shops down from the chemist’s where the original Post Office was. In an embarrassing move, local Labour Councillors were forced to join with Regent’s Park Conservatives in campaigning to undo the closure, which was brought about by their own Labour government.

The closure last May has meant misery for many who live in the area around Regent’s Park, and hit pensioners hard as they had to trek to the packed Post Office in Camden Town where hour long waits for service are common. Labour’s rotten economy may have been behind the closure but Conservatives here are determined to make sure that the Post Office, greatly valued by our community, returns as expected early next year.
