Tory Party Conference
I've just come back from the Conservative Party annual conference, which was held in Manchester this year. It was a higly successful conference, full of energy and passion for change. David Cameron captured the view of so many of us (and me especially) in his closing speech when he spoke about rebuilding a sense of individual responsibility to put our nation back on its feet. I particularly liked his emphasis on us all working together to make this happen. In the years to come, both he and I want to be able to look back and say that it wasn't just a Conservative government that made change happen but TOGETHER we made the changes we needed to build a better tomorrow.
Conference was a great opportunity to meet people and discuss the issues that matter to Holborn & St Pancras. Helping small businesses to survive and grow in our area is one of my passions - and I was able to discuss this with Shadow Business Secretary Ken Clarke.
Community cohesion is another important issue in Holborn & St Pancras, a constituency where 90 different languages are spoken, a microcosm of multi-cultural Britain. In this picture I am addressing a meeting with Paul Goodman, Shadow Community Cohesion Minister.
