Holding a Street Stall Outside the Brunswick Centre
Today I ran a street stall with Cllr Rebecca Hossack and other volunteers

Today I ran a street stall with Cllr Rebecca Hossack (pictured) and other volunteers. We generated a lot of interest and were glad how many people said that they would vote Conservative this time round!

Visiting the Surma Centre

I always love to visit the Bengali community at the Surma centre. We always have a great chat and I'm made to feel so welcome. There was a large crowd today and we discussed many of the issues that matter to people, such as crime, education and housing. We all want to see some change.

Anti- Holocaust Play - "And Then They Came For Me"
Anti-Holocaust Play

Last night I hosted a play about Anne Frank and her persecution by the Nazis in World War Two, written by American playwright James Still, and produced by Nic Careem and the Blue Sky Network.

The play is a multi-media production that uses actors and video footage to tell the story of Anne and her step-sister Eva Schloss, who unlike Anne survived Auschwitz. After the play, Eva and I took part in a question-and-answer session with the audience, hosted by Nic Careem.

I was proud to bring the play to Camden. This is an important story which reaches out to all of us and serves as a reminder of how we all need to take people of all races and religions as they are, and focus on what they contribute to society. There is no place for hatred and bigotry in today's Britain.
